Holiday Lane is a Boston based indie psych trio influenced by the progressive pop of the late 60's (i.e. the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Zombies) as well as contemporary alternative pop artists such as Billie Eilish and Fleet Foxes. The group's main members are Andy Abbott, Jeff Abbott, and Cole Nelson, but they frequently collaborate with other musicians and artists in the indie community. What sets Holiday Lane apart from other groups in the indie scene is the love and friendship they feel for each other, as well as the community in whole, which shows through in many of their songs.
when your glass is half full
your glass is half full
it’s not empty
but still you take more
room on the shore for yourself
oh your helpless too
you act like it’s true
but i’m telling you
that it isn’t, no
oh you want you give take
until your heart breaks
to itself
if you ask it to
and that’s when she said
good vibes are like a river
through us they flow
and that’s i knew
that we’re all on the same ship
why do we do the same shit
and that’s when she said
there’s a heart within us glowing
across the globe
and that’s when i knew
that we’re all on the same ship
why do we do the same shit
i don’t know
i was all no, no
come one
no, no, no
no, no
so i felt
low, low, low
low, low, low
oo
and that’s when she said
good vibes are like a river
through us they flow
and that’s i knew
that we’re all on the same ship
why do we do the same shit
and that’s when she said
there’s a heart within us glowing
across the globe
and that’s when i knew
that we’re all on the same ship
why do we do the same shit
the visions always faceless
as the sound dissolves
(all aboard for the blue horizon)
thank god for the ocean
(hark, hark! bring her home)
i’m mystified, watching them rise
(she loves me, she loves, she loves, i love the dawn)
thank god for oceans
(i come bringing gifts to steal their hearts)
i'm mystified, watching them fall and rise
(but would you cry again?)
