Worst Sumo is the project of Andy Ciardella, a Princeton, NJ based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally using the name to release low-profile albums and singles on the streaming platform Bandcamp, 2019 saw the artist move towards releases on most streaming platforms and a more ambitious sound. After the stripped back Cheerleader EP was released in early 2020, Worst Sumo is now in the midst of steadily dropping singles, which will continue into 2021. These songs move towards a sound more influenced by electronic music, but still heavily relies on the raw and fuzzy indie rock that is the basis of Worst Sumo.
Tell me what'll work for you
I can be your handle and your shoulder too
When can we escape this doom
How long until this thing will bloom
It's a sort of hovering fear
To stand in front of a false mirror
Sinking as I stumble the days
Open up your throat and say
Shower me, color me, hold me like a best friend
Discovering, recovering, I'm also feeling broken
Will the hope burn my eyes or help bring us together
So let me know when to go, I don't control the weather
Heart like a botanical garden
Summer haze swings around you
The California sun makes you blush
Rose boy with the rainbow paint brush
Romanticize a burning feeling
Maybe it will serve the healing
The turquoise do in desert palette
Shifting my dark blue mindset
Shower me, color me, hold me like a best friend
Discovering, recovering, I'm also feeling broken
Will the hope burn my eyes or help bring us together
So let me know when to go, I don't control the weather
Heart like a botanical garden
Summer haze swings around you
The California sun makes you blush
Rose boy with the rainbow paint brush
Let's try this out just once
Heart like a botanical garden
Who built a maze around you
The California sun makes you blush
Rose boy with the rainbow paint brush
